In a hot, hot country, ringed with mountains on one side and jungle on the other, lives aprincess called Cinnamon. Her eyes are made of pearls, which means that she is blind. And, for reasons her parents the Rajah and Rani cannot fathom, she will not talk. Sothey offer a reward to anyone who can teach Cinnamon to speak. People travel from farand wide to attempt it, but nothing works. Until a mighty tiger, huge and fierce, prowlsinto their palace and announces that he is here to teach the girl-cub to talk .A mighty fable from Neil Gaiman, winner of the Newbery and Carnegie Medals, illustrated in vivid colour by up-and-coming talent Divya Srinivasan, and now out inpaperback. Neil Gaiman's work has been widely adapted for film and TV, including filmsof Coraline and Stardust, and adaptations of American Gods, Good Omens (written withTerry Pratchett) and How to Talk to Girls at Parties are in the works for 2017
Neil Gaiman used to be a journalist, but gave it all up to write comics, which he claims are a totally valid late-twentieth-century art form, and he’s even won awards for them, so that’s all right. He’s 5’11” tall, owns a number of black T-shirts, and although he’s not overly keen on banana daiquiris, is always very flattered when appreciative fans send him money (he’s read Terry Pratchett’s biography, and, although he doubts that this will have any effect, figures what the hell).
