The Family Book is a children’s book that was written by Todd Parr and published for the first time in 2003. Though slightly controversial due to the inclusion of topics that deal with same-sex families in its content, the book has been praised widely for its excellent treatment of the same in a respectful, inclusive manner. It has been placed in the summer reading list for the District of Columbia Public School system due to its simple explanations and illustrations.
The book has 32 pages, each one with colourfully depicted pictures and explanations that describing different kinds of families, like ones which are noisy, silly, those with one parent, those with two moms or dads and even the so-called normal kind.
