Saswata and Susruta Mukherjee are two young artists from Kolkata, who - apart from sketching anything and everything, dream of directing a film starring Shahrukh Khan, some day.

“Children’s literature to us is undoubtedly one of the most fascinating art forms. It makes us realise that it is often the hardest to think of a simple solution to a simple problem,” say the twins.

Saswata and Susruta have worked on animated short films, which have been screened at several International Film Festivals. ‘Just Another Day in the Life of an Addict’ made by the twins, bagged the official selection at the Second Asia Youth Short Film Exhibition in China, 2016.

Saswata is an illustrator, animator, filmmaker and freelance graphic designer at Printoctopus. His books include ‘Tales to Tell’ and ‘Ugga the First…’among others. Susruta is a freelance designer and film-maker from Kolkata and graduated in multimedia with four years of experience in Digital Art and Communication Design from St. Xavier’s College. He currently works as a designer for a gaming start-up, during the day and is engrossed in his dream of being a filmmaker in the evenings. He is also a writer and his two books have been published in 2015 and 2017.

As illustrators, the brothers have designed covers for Scholastic India, designed stickers for Hike Messenger among others. ‘Blog tog’ is a new forum, that they have created to encourage and inspire creative, new talent, who can freely flaunt their skills there.

They currently live in Kolkata but plan to move to Mumbai soon to realise their dream.
